I am no longer counting months, I am down to weeks….three to be exact! July 8th is the big day that Chris and I will head to the Tucson airport, fly to LAX, spend a night with one of my former college roommates and best friends. Then we’ll soar out of the country, take a pit stop in Seoul, then land in Chiang Mai, Thailand!! This will be my new home for a year.
There are times when feel like I have checked off an adequate amount of “To-Do” items, and then there are moments when I feel like the list is a daunting black cloud, a time bomb that will go over before all is done….yet God is keeping me calm day by day. While I am certainly working to refine the final logistics, I am still enjoying a few lazy summer days and outings with my boyfriend, family, church, and friends. Just this past weekend my home congregation, Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior, celebrated their 50th anniversary with a Father’s Day “Jubilee Picnic.” Then to add to the excitement, one of my best friends from college made a special trip from Texas to spend the weekend with me before I leave. Each day I am overwhelmed by love and support for my upcoming mission in Thailand.
